Walk Tickets Available In ‘Shop’ Now
The Big Tuna Project is excited to announce our Walk for Joel. The charity walk will be taking place on Sunday the 8th of November 2026.
The 15km walk will start from the Maroochy Bridge Hotel and finish up at the iconic Mt. Coolum Golf club.
Registration from 8am. Walk commences at 9am.

The walk is open to everyone (men, women & kids) who wants to help make a difference for Men’s Mental Health.
Registration packs are available in our ‘SHOP’ section on the website.
Walkers are encouraged to share their walk details with family and friends to receive donations straight to the TBTP donation page at Donate — The Big Tuna Project.
Funds raised on the day will be donated to Men’s mental health organisations.
*Please note all persons under the age of 18 needs to be registered by an accompanying registered adult for the walk.

What to Expect on the day:
Registration from 8am at Maroochy Bridge Hotel & receive your official walk shirt
Listen to a safety briefing and instructions for the day
Warm up with some stretches
9am Commence walk with water and snack station set up at the halfway mark
Complete walk at Mt. Coolum Golf club
Stay for a drink and an onsite raffle
The walk starts at the Maroochy Bridge Hotel and crosses the beautiful Maroochy River
The Beginning
The walk continues down to the foreshore of Mudjimba Beach and through to Marcoola Beach. Areas close to the heart of Joel’s Childhood

Walker Terms and ConditionsCapacityI confirm that I am over 18 and have full legal capacity. If I am registering on behalf of a person who does not have full legal capacity, I warrant that I am legally entitled to act and sign on that person's behalf, such as a guardian or a person holding an appropriate power of attorney (an Authorised Person).If I am registering as an Authorised Person, I agree to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of that person and consent to the collection and use of their personal information as described in The Big Tuna Project's privacy collection notice and privacy policy.I consent to receiving marketing updates and communications from The Big Tuna Project. If I am registering as an Authorised Person, I provide that consent on behalf of the person I represent. Consent may be withdrawn and communications may be opted out of at any time.Safe ParticipationParticipant safety is a priority. To support a safe and enjoyable experience, all participants are encouraged to follow the Walk for Joel guidelines and any instructions given by event organisers. Participants should inform an event organiser of any concern that may affect their ability to participate safely and request any reasonable accommodation needed for a comfortable and inclusive experience.I acknowledge that while Walk for Joel activities are generally intended to be safe and low-impact, they may vary in intensity and involve potential risks, including slips, trips, falls, muscle strains, dehydration, and aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions.To minimise the risk of injury or accidents, I agree to:Wear appropriate footwear and clothing.Stay adequately hydrated.Follow all safety guidance applying to the event location.Comply with instructions given by event organisers.Inform an event organiser of any concern that may affect my ability to participate safely.Follow advice provided by my medical team, if applicable.Promptly report any incident, near miss, hazard, or safety concern to an event organiser.That this is an Alcohol and drug free event
The Big Tuna Project will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests for adjustments or assistance where it is reasonably able to do so. I acknowledge that I should notify an event organiser of any required assistance or adjustment before participating in a Walk for Joel activity.JurisdictionI agree that any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of the Australian State or Territory in which I participate in a Walk for Joel activity. I submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that State or Territory.Risk, Release and IndemnityI accept all risk, responsibility, and liability arising from or in connection with any child or animal accompanying me at a Walk for Joel activity.I accept responsibility for the risks associated with my participation in Walk for Joel activities, including the risk of personal injury or death.To the extent permitted by law, I release The Big Tuna Project, its officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives, sponsors, and event organisers from claims, liabilities, or proceedings arising from any loss, damage, expense, injury, or death sustained by me as a result of or in connection with:Any negligence, wrongful act, omission, or failure by The Big Tuna Project or its representatives; orMy participation in a Walk for Joel activity.
To the extent permitted by law, I indemnify The Big Tuna Project against:Losses it incurs;Liabilities it incurs; andReasonable legal costs and other expenses it incurs in connection with a claim, action, or proceeding,
where those losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arise from or in connection with my participation in a Walk for Joel activity, including the conduct of any child or animal accompanying me.Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any right, guarantee, warranty, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified under applicable law.Removal From the Event or ProgramI acknowledge that, to maintain a safe and positive environment, The Big Tuna Project or an event organiser may remove a participant who:Fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.Disregards reasonable safety instructions.Behaves in a way that threatens or adversely affects the safety or wellbeing of another person.Disrupts the event or engages in unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate conduct.
I acknowledge that an event organiser may determine, acting reasonably and in the interests of safety, that it is unsuitable or unsafe for me to begin or continue participating.An event organiser may also determine that a child or animal accompanying me is unsuitable for the activity or presents a safety risk. If directed to do so, I must leave the activity with that child or animal. This provision does not apply to an Assistance Animal, which is permitted to accompany a participant.The Big Tuna Project may exclude or reject a person from participating in Walk for Joel where it considers this reasonably necessary, including for safety, legal, operational, or behavioural reasons. Where appropriate and lawful, The Big Tuna Project will provide a written explanation.Personal Information, Media and PublicityBy participating in Walk for Joel, I consent to my contact information being shared with relevant parties where reasonably necessary to:Protect my safety or the safety of others.Administer or organise the event.Meet venue, insurance, sponsor, or event requirements.Comply with legal, funding, or government obligations.
My personal information will otherwise be collected, used, stored, and disclosed in accordance with The Big Tuna Project's privacy policy and applicable privacy laws.By accepting these Terms and Conditions, I consent to The Big Tuna Project capturing and using my image, photograph, video, or voice for internal purposes connected with administering, documenting, evaluating, or internally promoting Walk for Joel.The Big Tuna Project will obtain my specific consent before publishing identifiable images or personal details about me on public websites, social media platforms, advertising, or other public promotional materials.I must obtain prior written approval from The Big Tuna Project before using its name, logo, branding, or other intellectual property at an event, in promotional material, or during a media or photo opportunity.Walker AcceptanceI warrant that I have read and understood:These Terms and Conditions;The Walk for Joel registration form; andAny safety information provided to me.
I warrant that I am medically and physically able to participate safely. I will not begin or continue participating if an illness, injury, medical condition, environmental condition, or other circumstance affects my ability to do so safely.I confirm that the information provided in my registration form is true, complete, and correct. I will notify The Big Tuna Project of any relevant change as soon as reasonably practicable.CommunicationsI acknowledge that The Big Tuna Project may communicate with me by email, telephone, or SMS in connection with Walk for Joel and its related activities.I understand that communication channels may only be monitored during stated business or event hours and are not emergency services. If I or another person is in immediate danger, I should call 000. For crisis support in Australia, I may contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.I may opt out of non-essential SMS communications at any time by replying STOP. Transactional, safety, or legally required communications may still be sent where permitted by law.I acknowledge that The Big Tuna Project may use artificial intelligence systems to assist in generating content or responding to communications, subject to its privacy policy and applicable law.Acceptance DeclarationBy registering for or participating in Walk for Joel, I confirm that:I have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.I agree to be bound by them.I understand the risks associated with participation.I consent to the collection and use of personal information as described above.If acting as an Authorised Person, I have authority to provide these confirmations and consents on behalf of the participant.
